KPD Investigates Shooting & Stabbing; Shooting Suspect Back in Kenosha

Kenosha Police are investigating a Sunday shooting and an unrelated stabbing. In the first case, officers responded to a 'shots fired' call in the 6700 blk. of 24th Ave. at about 8:30 in the morning. They found a man inside a home with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital. Police are asking anyone with information about the case to give them a call. In the second incident, a man suffered a non-life threatening stab wound near the tracks in the area of 13th Ct. and 48th St. at about 5:30 Sunday evening. The victim was found walking several blocks away.

Kenosha---The woman who allegedly shot her purportedly abusive ex-boyfriend is back in town, courtesy of a U.S Marshall's bus transport. Donna Matthews was arrested in the Seattle area and waived extradition, clearing the way for her return. She's expected to make her initial appearance in Kenosha Court either Monday or Tuesday. Matthews and one of her brothers are both charged with Party to the Crime of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide. Derrick Matthews allegedly supplied the murder weapon and was in on the plan.

Kenosha---Gov. Walker is scheduled to be in town Monday, highlighting reductions in the unemployment insurance tax rate for businesses. He's to appear at Kenall Manufacturing for an event that's not open to the public.
