(WGTD)---It’s exceedingly rare for two members of the same immediate family to sit as elected officials on the same governing body. But that’s exactly what’s occurring at the Racine City Council.
Melissa Kaprelian stepped off the council a few years ago but then returned this spring when she won election to a new term. Meanwhile, her son, C.J. Rouse, was elected to the council in another district. Rouse had no opposition.
Mother and son were on Greg Berg’s Morning Show.
Rouse says he and his mother are not afraid to disagree with one another on the issues, joking that as a kid he grew up arguing with his mother.
In addition to serving as a council member, Kaprelian also sits on the Racine County Board.
