Oct. 18, 2020 7:35p

(WGTD)---The 6th Annual UW-Parkside College of Natural and Health Sciences Alumni and Community event will be held this Saturday.

The collection of timely speakers and topics will be held totally online because of the pandemic, making it more accessible for members of the public.

Topics include several sessions related to COVID-19, including one that'll feature a half-dozen doctors and nurses who graduated from UW-Parkside and now deal with the pandemic on a daily basis. Another session is titled "Social Stigma and Mental Well-Being in the Face of a Pandemic."

The main speaker will be Janet McCabe, who currently serves as Director of Indiana University's Environmental Resilience Institute. She also served in the Obama Administration's EPA where she dealt primarily with clean air and climate programs.

The three-hour-long event is free.

Last Saturday's Community Matters program focused on the conference.
