(WGTD)---The Racine Art Museum is rolling out some changes under a new leader. Roff Woulfe took over for longtime director Bruce Pepich a little over a year ago.
The museum Monday announced a series of new initiatives to increase access, extend hours and expand programming.
The downtown museum has been closed to accommodate a new roof installation and other facility upgrades. It’ll reopen next Wednesday, and at that time will start offering free general admission for all Racine County residents. The freebies are made possible by a grant from the Osborne & Scekic Family Foundation. Free admission is already in place at RAM's second campus, the Wustum.
The 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday hours will be augmented with new weekend and evening hours: The downtown location will be open Thursday evenings until eight and on Sundays from noon to four. RAM Wustum will remain open Wednesday-Saturday from 10-4.
RAM is gearing up for a new multi-arts festival that’ll run from September 18th to the 27th. "The mostly free public biennial brings together visual art, performance and participatory projects across public spaces and cultural sites throughout Racine County," according to a release. The full lineup of events will be released later this month.
