(WGTD)---A teen wanted in connection with the murder of another in Mt. Pleasant in June has been arrested in Chicago.
17 year-old Ronald Franklin is facing charges of attempted armed robbery and felony murder in the shooting death of 18 year-old Geovonnie Aime over a THC vape cartridge.
Police allege that Franklin pulled a gun on Aime when Aime drove up to a house on Racine Street to apparently make a sale. Gunfire erupted instead.
According to the criminal complaint, Franklin reportedly told two acquaintances that he didn't mean to shoot Aime but did so after Aime tried to grab his gun.
Aime drove several blocks after being shot in the armpit area. Police found him slumped behind the wheel after crashing into a parked vehicle.
The arrest was made by members of the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, led by the Marshals Service. Franklin was taken into custody without incident and is being held in Cook County juvenile detention pending extradition to Wisconsin.
