Kenosha Harbor Market may have had record attendance Saturday.
Using a formula that's fairly well-accepted across the nation, organizers for the open-air market counted some 14,000 patrons.
Average summer attendance is between 8,000 and 9,000, according to Market President Ray Forgianni.
Forgianni and Market Secretary Melanie Hovey spoke on last Friday's Morning Show. For the full interview, click here.
The record attendance comes as the Market's satellite location that serves western Kenosha County prepares to open for the season.
Starting this week, Westosha Market will be open every Wednesday afternoon from 2:30 to 6:30 at its new location at the Kenosha County Fairgrounds in Wilmot.
Westosha is not the only new initiative of Kenosha Common Markets, the umbrella organization of both markets.
Organizers are trying to establish a community kitchen in the downtown area as a first step for finding a permanent and year-round home for the downtown operation.
They're starting out by trying to identify potential users. A survey is on the Market's Facebook page.
One other statistical tidbit: Average weekly sales at Kenosha Harbor Market total around $50,000, according to Forgianni.
