(WGTD)---Charges have been filed against three men in connection with one of two back-to-back fatal shootings that occurred in Racine during the first weekend of the month.

According to the criminal complaint, the homicide was gang-related and may have committed in retaliation for a homicide that occurred several years ago in which the defendant was acquitted by a jury.

Appearing in court Friday to face charges of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide and bail jumping were 25-year-old Chihene Davis and 26-year-old Isaiah McGlorn. $500,000 bonds were set. A third defendant, 24-year-old Zharon Smith, was in custody but has not yet been formally charged.

The victim--26-year-old Cier Tye-Pearson--suffered a gunshot wound to the head in a hail of bullets that were fired by two gunmen. The gunmen sprayed the vehicle the victim had been riding in during the early-morning hours of Saturday, Nov. 1. The driver was not hurt.

Police believe Davis and McGlorn were those gunmen. Smith allegedly drove the getaway vehicle.

A day after the homicide, a second man died in a shooting that occurred at the Chicken Palace in the 1100 blk. of Washington Ave. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Jaquon Calhoun.

No charges have been filed in that case.

In a news release, police said they believe the Chicken Palace shooting was retaliation for the murder that occurred the night before.
