Aug. 25, 2022 10a

(WGTD)---A former administrator in Racine Unified and an assistant superintendent in the Waukegan Community School District have been identified as finalists for the superintendent's position in Kenosha Unified.

Jason Nault currently serves in Waukegan as Assistant Superintendent of Equity, Innovation and Accountability. He's a former high school principal in Chicago and Broward County, Florida.

Jeffrey Weiss--the former Racine Unified administrator--is the current superintendent of South Milwaukee public schools. He holds degrees from UW-Parkside and Carthage College.

The two candiates will participate in a final round of Board of Education interviews to be held on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

In addition, the candidates will meet the public in a forum to be held in the Educational Support Center’s boardroom on Tuesday, Sept. 6, from 5-7:15 p.m. Stakeholders who participate will be asked to provide feedback on the candidates, and as such must be available for the entire session. Due to room capacity, space for the forum is limited to 100 participants. Interested parties must RSVP via this form or call the Superintendent’s Office at 262-359-6320 by Thursday, Sept. 1. Confirmation of participation will be sent via email on Friday, Sept. 2.

Alternatively, stakeholders may watch the meeting live on the district's YouTube channel.

Forum questions also may be submitted for consideration via this form. Questions for the forum will be selected and asked by the moderator to comply with hiring guidelines.

Once the final candidate is identified, a contract will be negotiated and the candidate will be brought before the school board in a public meeting for formal approval. The date and time of this meeting has not been set. The start date will be negotiated along with the terms and conditions of the contract.
