WIAC Conference, which includes UW-Whitewater and UW-Stout, Cancels 2020-2021 Fall Sports Season

(WGTD) --- The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, which is home to UW-Whitewater and UW-Stout, announced Monday night that the vast majority of its 2020-2021 fall sports season is canceled.  Football, women's soccer, volleyball and men's and women's cross country will be affected. WIAC states that local institutions will have autonomy, however WIAC will not recognize any conference play or hold conference championship games. Teams will still be allowed to practice throughout the fall semester. As a result of the statement, UW-Whitewater canceled their fall season entirely. Women's tennis and Women's golf will be moved to the spring of 2021. WIAC is one of the first major Wisconsin athletic conferences to make a decision on collegiate sports this fall.
