(WGTD)---The new leader of Kenosha County's top economic development arm comes from an economic development agency in nearby Waukesha County.

Nicole Ryf (riff) replaces longtime Kenosha Area Business Alliance President Todd Battle, who accepted another position.

Ryf currently serves as the executive director of the Waukesha County Center for Growth.

According to a news release, Ryf worked in multiple states at the local, county, regional and state levels, including the Texas Governor's Office of Economic Development and Tourism. Her resume also includes leading efforts to build the emerging offshore wind industry in Virginia and helping companies with headquarters relocations.

She holds a Master of Science in urban planning from UW-Milwaukee, and a Bachelor of Arts from UW-Madison.

Ryf has won the endorsement of Kenosha County Executive Samantha Kerkman, who said in a statement that she found Ryf to be a "very dynamic leader with a great deal of experience."
