4th of July Festivities

Lots of things to see and do this 4th of July. Here are some of the highlights. In Racine---there is a 4th Fest block party Tuesday night from 6-9pm…on Monument Square.  It’s called Strike Up The Festivities. There will be music from Mean Jake---plus food and beverages. And---there are fireworks Tuesday night in Paddock Lake over the lake---at Fireman’s Park in Sturtevant---6 Flags---the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa and the Great Lakes Naval Base. Times vary---but---they are all start around dusk.

The Racine 4th of July parade begins Wednesday morning @ 8:30 at Goold and Main Streets. It heads south into downtown Racine then over to the Golden Rondelle. The 40-minute fireworks---from North Beach---go off at dusk---about 9:20pm. Before the fireworks---there will be a parade of planes over the lakefront starting at 6pm. There will be historic plans plus two F-16 jets. Kenosha’s fireworks go off  Wednesday night---from Celebration place at HarborPark at 9:30. But---there will also be fireworks Tuesday night---at Simmons Field---right after the Kingfish game.

There are also fireworks Wednesday night at Echo Park in Burlington---6 Flags---Williams Park in Antioch---and---the Fontana Beach. There are a number of parades on the 4th: the Somers Parade---on Highway E---kicks off at 2pm; Lake Geneva has a parade at 10am; Delavan has a parade at 3pm and fireworks at 9:30pm.

And---you can Celebrate America---from 11am – 11pm---both Tuesday and Wednesday in Kenosha’s HarborPark area with 3 stages of music and plenty of food and drink available. And---leading up to the fireworks in Kenosha---you can enjoy Let Freedom Sing at Pennoyer Park from 4:30-on. There will be music as well as a hula-hoop and a limbo contest.
