5 Arrested Following High-Speed Police Chase in Kenosha

Kenosha---Five people from Milwaukee---including one juvenile---are in custody following a high-speed chase Wednesday evening.

The incident began just after 4 p.m. when the Pleasant Prairie Police Department responded to a report of retail theft at the Tommy Hilfiger Store in the Premium Outlet Mall on I-94.

The suspects left the mall in a silver Pontiac which was then spotted by a Kenosha County Sheriff’s deputy heading northbound on I-94 near Highway 158.  He attempted to stop the car---but---the driver pulled off the freeway at Highway S and accelerated eastward at a high rate of speed.

The driver ran a red light at Highway H causing a crash with two other vehicles. The 5 occupants of the suspect vehicle then fled on foot from the scene---but were apprehended. A search of the suspect vehicle uncovered over $6,000 worth of stolen merchandise. Two of the 5 suspects suffered minor injuries in the red light crash---but---no one in the other vehicles were injured.
