91.1 Players Receives Honors From the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association

The 91.1 Players received several honors from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Saturday evening at its annual awards banquet.

Creator and co-producer Steve Brown reports that the group won a 1st place award in the category of “Best Significant Community Impact” for “The Kane Shadow: Sayonara My Friends." It's the story of WWII Japanese Americans in Delavan.

In the category of “Best Live On-Site Broadcast Remote,” the 91.1 Players won another 1st place award for "The Louis 'Gas' Derler Murder Mystery," a radio play based on the unsolved homicides that took place decades ago at a western Kenosha County restaurant and bar.

A second place award went for a production titled "The Stage Door Canteen."

Congratulations to Steve, co-producer Mike Ullstrup and the entire cast and crew.
