(WGTD)---An accelerator stuck on a sandal is being blamed for an accident that led to a car crashing through the wall of an I-94 gas station at Highway 20 Sunday evening. But authorities also say the driver was drunk.
Arrested for drunk driving, 2nd offense, was 47-year-old Frances Hastings of Racine. She wasn't hurt, and neither was anyone inside the store.
Hasting said she lost control after her sandal got caught on the gas pedal.
The Racine County Sheriff's Dept. says Hastings' blood-alcohol content was more than two-and-a-half times the legal limit.
