Another Foxconn Generated Economic Development Project

Another economic development project---springing forth from the Mount Pleasant Foxconn project---is proposed for nearby Oak Creek. A Brookfield developer wants to put up 14 buildings---housing 280 apartments---on a 20-acre site---on 27th Street---near Drexel Avenue. This is also quite close to the new IKEA store going up on Drexel Avenue and I-94. According to The Milwaukee Business Journal---the development would have two-story, row-house style buildings---and---the apartments would have walk-up entrances. It would be a mix of studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom units.

The development would match the condo-style pf housing in the nearby Drexel Ridge Apartments (see photo). Pending city approvals, the newspaper reports that construction could start this fall. The developer believes the apartment complex’s proximity to the Foxconn plant will generate renter interest.
