(WGTD) ---- When the worst emergencies happen, its students and faculty like the ones trained at Gateway Technical College’s EMS program that rise to the challenge serving our community. For the first time, local EMS workers and experts will get a chance to share their stories on WGTD’s new podcast “The Call.” “The Call” is a half-hour show highlighting the responsibility, technique, and humor it takes to be effective on the job. Not every call is serious, but every call matters.
Troy McDonald, WGTD’s Digital Director says the show is lighthearted and meaningful at the same time. “The show is not heavy in the weeds. If you've never called 911, if you’ve never seen an emergency service person, this show will entertain, inform, and inspire. It’s for everyone.”
“The Call” is hosted by millennial Austin Brandt, an EMS instructor at Gateway and Executive Produced by Timothy Williamson, Director of Gateway’s EMS Program. New episodes of the show are available weekly and can be found on nearly any streaming audio platform.
