U-S Senator Bernie Sanders is heading to Racine to campaign for 1st District Democratic Congressional candidate Randy Bryce.
Bryce is one of 2 Democrats vying for a place on the ballot against incumbent 1st District Republican Congressman Paul Ryan---who is Speaker of the House.
Janesville teacher Cathy Myers is also running. The primary is August 14th.
Sanders will be at Memorial Hall---in downtown Racine---on Saturday, February 24th. A number of local politicians have been invited to speak.
The doors open at 9:45am and the program is scheduled to begin at 10:15.
The Vermont senator---who calls himself an independent---ran in the Democratic presidential primary against Hillary Clinton in 2016.
This will be Sanders' third visit to the Kenosha/Racine area in the past two years. During the Wisconsin presidential primary campaign, Sanders spoke at Carthage College. He also participated in a MSNBC town hall at UAW Local 72 in Kenosha.
