(WGTD/AP)---Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden will visit Kenosha Thursday, two days after Republican rival Donald Trump was in town.

According to the former vice president’s campaign, Biden and his wife Jill will "hold a community meeting in Kenosha to bring together Americans to heal and address the challenges we face" and "make a local stop" afterward.

The Associated Press reports that Biden will meet with the family of Jacob Blake, the Black man who was shot in the back by a Kenosha police officer, triggering several days of unrest, violence and property damage.

Biden has repeatedly denounced the violence but has expressed sympathy for protesters' concerns over systemic racism and a commitment to enact police reforms if elected.

Biden said Wednesday that he believes the officer who shot Blake should be charged, echoing the sentiments of his running mate, Kamala Harris, a former prosecutor.

Biden said there have been "overwhelming" requests that he come to Kenosha.
