Racine-based InSinkErator plans to expand in Racine County.
About 170 engineers and professional staff will break away from the company’s main facility on 21st Street and move into a new $24 million building to go up in Mt. Pleasant east of I-94 and south of Highway 20.
The announcement was made in a news release issued Monday.
The release says the move will free up space that’ll allow the company to add production.
InSinkErator is asking for $5 million in government incentives, including a four-and-a-half million dollar loan from the county. Racine County Supervisors will get their first look at the details Wednesday night.
InSinkErator employs a-thousand people in southeast Wisconsin, mostly in the Racine area.
