Mar. 16, 2026 5:45a; Update at 6:35a with Kenosha Courthouse closing
(WGTD)---An unanticipated blizzard warning remains in effect for Kenosha, Racine and Walworth counties until four this afternoon.
A couple of inches of new snow and blowing snow will reduce visibility for much of the day. Temperatures are expected to hold in the mid 20’s.
K-though-12 schools have cancelled classes. Racine County has closed all of its buildings, including the courthouse and Law Enforcement Center. The Kenosha County Courthouse is closed. Gateway Technical College has closed its campuses for the day.
Parking restrictions are in effect in some municipalities, although notably the City of Kenosha has remained silent on a potential snow emergency.
Crews from We Energies and its contractors were wrapping up work yesterday in restoring power to thousands of customers who lost it during last week’s high winds when another round of outages occurred. As of 5:30 this morning, nearly 850 customers were waiting for their power to be restored in Kenosha County. The outage map shows nearly 23-hundred customers were without it in Racine County.
