(WGTD, AP)---Crews hope to restore power to all who lost it during Tuesday afternoon's storms by nightfall tonight. At daybreak Wednesday, several thousand businesses and homes in Kenosha and Racine counties were without power after storms featuring strong straight-line winds moved through. Particularly hard hit was Racine's north side. Powerful winds uprooted seven large trees in one block alone. In Kansasville, a dozen utility poles were damaged with some resting at an angle because of the wind.

(WGTD)---The death of a two-year-old boy last March in a home in the 2300 blk. of Lincoln Rd. in Kenosha has resulted in a charge of 1st degree reckless homicide. 23-year-old Hunter Jones ran a 24-hour, unlicensed daycare with his now estranged wife. According to the criminal complaint, authorities believe Jones was responsible for the suspected asphyxiation of Matthew Bolinski while the woman stepped out to pick up dinner. The complaint says Jones told conflicting stories to investigators, and couldn't adequately explain while the child's face and head were covered with contusions and abrasions. The woman has not been charged.

(WGTD)---Racine police are investigating an early-morning hit and run that resulted in a death. Just after 3 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 2300 blk. of Spring Street and found a 45-year-old man in the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The only description police have of the offending vehicle is that it's a S-U-V. They're asking for the public's help.

(WGTD)---The Racine County Sheriff's Dept. says a Milwaukee woman was drunk and driving recklessly when she was pulled over Tuesday evening with her 8-month-old baby in the back. 25-year-old Gabrielle Presser's driver's license had already been revoked for a prior OWI. Authorities were alerted by another driver who reported that he'd almost been rear-ended by a woman who had passed him recklessly then pulled over to urinate on the side of the road before turning around and speeding off in the other direction.
