(WGTD)---A 17-year-old Antioch boy who considered himself to be a militiaman and went to Kenosha Monday to ostensibly protect property from looters and vandals is expected to face charges for both shooting deaths that occurred and the injuries sustained by a third man.
Kyle Rittenhouse was named in a criminal complaint late Thursday that includes two counts of First Degree Intentional Homicide, one count of Attempted First Degree Homicide, two counts of Recklessly Endangering Safety and one count of Possession of a Dangerous Weapon by a Person Under 18.
Rittenhouse is awaiting extradition from Illinois where he was arrested the morning after the shootings.
Much of the story was captured by videographers who were streaming live video that night.
According to the complaint, Rittenhouse, carrying a long gun, was chased through a used car parking lot by 36-year-old Joseph Rosenbaum. Trailing behind Rittenhouse and Rosenbaum was Richard McGinnis, a reporter for a right-wing publication called the Daily Call. A loud bang is heard. Rosenbaum continued to advance. Four more shots ring out, then Rosenbaum falls to the ground. McGinnis takes his shirt off and tries to give first aid while Rittenhouse can be heard telling someone on his cell phone that he "just killed somebody."
Rittenhouse runs down the street, with several people in pursuit. Rittenhouse trips and falls to the ground, and scuffles with the second person who's then fatally shot, 26-year-old Anthony Huber. After purportedly shooting Huber, Rittenhouse partially gets up and fires at a third man, 26-year-old Gaige Grosskreutz of West Allis. He suffers a serious wound to his arm. The complaint says Grosskreutz appears to have been holding a handgun at the time.
Pointing but not firing at other people in the area, Rittenhouse then flees the scene.
Autopsies indicated that Rosenbaum had gunshot wounds to his groin, back, left hand and a graze wound to the right side of his forehead. Huber had a gunshot wound to his chest.
