Mt. Pleasant---Speed and alcohol were believed to be factors in a Friday night crash that injured two.
A vehicle driven by Nicholas B. Putz, 35, of Elm Grove, left the road in the 1400 blk. of Oakes Rd just before 11 Friday night and struck a tree, according to a release from police.
Putz sustained minor injuries, but a passenger, Mary F. Pagano, 34, of Mt. Pleasant, was in much rougher shape. Rescue personnel had to cut apart the vehicle in order to pull her out. Pagano was taken to the hospital with a various injuries and at last report was said to be in stable condition, the release said.
