The KTown Driving School in Kenosha has closed. The driver-training school---located across the parking lot from Paielli’s Bakery on 39th Avenue---is no longer licensed to provide driver training services to students.
Debbie Kramer from the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles said the company’s state-issued license was pulled following an on-site audit that discovered a non-licensed instructor---who had not gone through a background check---giving driving lessons. The audit was triggered by a citizen complaint. Other minor violations were noted, as well. The Wisconsin DMV is in the process of obtaining enrollment information---and---identifying local options for students to complete their driver education. The DMV will begin to contact students---via e-mail---providing information on: what they need to do to finish their driver ed---other driving schools in the area---and---how to recoup any lost tuition payments.
It’s unclear if or when the driving school will re-open.
