Salem Lakes---A 58-year-old Paddock Lake man---who was sentenced to 10 years in prison---in 2004---for a drunk driving accident that killed two elderly women---was arrested last night for crashing his Ford Ranger into a home in Salem Lakes. Jeffrey R. Hinks---was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated---3rd offense…for the Sunday night incident. There was one occupant in the house---at 22413-65th Street---at the time. That person was NOT injured. Hinks was treated at a hospital for injuries. Damage to both the house and the small truck was severe.
In October of 2003---Hinks had reportedly run a STOP sign and hit the car of two 83-year-old Union Grove women. His 12-year-old daughter was with him---and---both of them were injured in that accident. Hinks was put on 30 years of extended supervision when he got out of prison---and---that was in effect last night.
