(WGTD)---Bond for a suspected drunk driver who slammed into a motorcyclist last week was set at $500,000 Monday.
29-year-old Anthony Palmer of Kenosha was charged with Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Motor Vehicle and Resisting Arrest.
According to the criminal complaint, Palmer had been driving his SUV at a high rate of speed Wednesday night when he lost control in the 7600 blk. of Sheridan Rd. and struck a motorcyclist who'd been stopped at a stop sign waiting to turn onto Sheridan.
The victim, 20-year-old Eliot Sandoval Arreola, was thrown some 100 ft. against the side of a house. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Palmer's SUV, which he purportedly had been driving at speeds of over 90 mph, came to rest on its roof. Palmer was able to walk away from the wreckage.
Palmer told investigators that he'd been drinking earlier in the evening at a downtown Kenosha bar. According to the complaint, Palmer had a blood-alcohol level of nearly twice the legal limit.
