The sad story of a fatal car accident that took the life of an 87-year-old Racine County woman back on August 30th---just got sadder. Evelyn Goebel died following a two-car accident on Sylvania Avenue---but---her 85-year-old husband had survived---with serious injuries. In a press release issued today---the Racine County Sheriff’s Department say that the husband---Earl Goebel died at Froedtert Hospital on Friday. The Goebels were on their way back home from a trip to an ice cream shop when the accident happened. The accident investigation continues---but---it appears that the 21-year-old operator of the other vehicle involved failed to yield the right-of-way while making a left turn.
