Foxconn Groundbreaking Thursday; Link to Video Stream Posted

(WGTD)---It’s a day that’s been in the making for over a year: A formal groundbreaking ceremony for Foxconn in Mt. Pleasant is scheduled for later today.

Headlining the invitation-only event will be President Trump.

Trump flew into Milwaukee Wednesday night ahead of a morning fundraiser.

The groundbreaking is expected to begin around 12:30, with Trump then traveling to Foxconn’s rented facility near I-94 and Highway 20 for a speech that’s to begin a little after one.

Also on hand---Foxconn CEO and Chairman Terry Gou, House Speaker Paul Ryan and Gov. Scott Walker.

Kept away will be protesters. Groups representing a number of different causes are expected to gather at Smolinski Park in Mt. Pleasant then march to village hall. Site preparation work has already begun for Foxconn’s first building---which will be a multi-purposes launching pad of sorts for the rest of the complex.

The events are expected to be streamed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vWrG-yNeoY
