Fundraising Campaign Established For Woman Shot in Wheatland

(WGTD)---A GoFundMe campaign has been established for the woman who was shot seven times in an attempted robbery in the Town of Wheatland.

According to the web page, Eva Lofton suffered damage to her lung, kidney, pancreas, diaphragm, duodenum, stomach, liver, colon, left leg, left arm and right hand. Her spine and hip were also fractured. Lofton reportedly underwent two surgeries totally nearly ten hours.

"It is nothing short of a miracle that Eva survived this horrific event, her dear friend Joey did not," the page reads.

23 year-old Joseph Riley, who was shot four times in the home that he rented, died at the scene.

Four Racine residents, ranging in age from 17 to 23, are expected to be in Kenosha Court Wednesday to face formal charges.

The GoFundMe site says Eva will require extensive hospital care and mental and physical rehabilitation. "Eva is very concerned about paying for her bills and the needs of her two children, 5 and 6 years old," it says.

The crowdsourcing page raised about $500 in its first three hours on Tuesday. Supporters hope to generate $10,000.
