Governor Tony Evers says he is directing the state DNR to review air permits granted for the massive Foxconn project in Mount Pleasant. Evers told reporters on Tuesday he doesn’t think that the review has begun yet. Evers campaigned on a promise of reviewing the air permits given to Foxconn for its project that includes a display screen manufacturing facility. The governor says he discussed the review with Foxconn officials and they were NOT concerned. He says Foxconn believes that they have done what was asked of them. Last week---Foxconn reaffirmed its plans to build a factory in Mount Pleasant and employ up-to-13,000 people although most of them will be in research and development and not blue collar manufacturing jobs.
