Town of Whitewater---A 28 year-old man from Janesville is dead after he collided head-on with another vehicle while passing in a no-passing zone, according to a news release from the Walworth County Sheriff's Dept.
Brandon Lee Garecht was driving a compact car on Hwy. 12 just east of Hwy. 'P' late Sunday afternoon. He pulled out to pass several vehicles. That's when his car was struck head-on by a F150 pick-up, the release said.
Both vehicles wound up in the ditch.
Garecht was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pick-up, 69 year-old John Wallace of Richmond, Il, was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
