I-94 Fatality; High-Speed Chase; Wilmot High School Arrest

Yorkville---The driver of a semi was killed when he rear-ended another stopped in traffic on I-94 at the Kenosha/Racine county line early Thursday morning. The crash forced a closure of all lanes for some six hours. According to a release from the Racine County Sheriff's Dept., the semi that had been stopped may have had a flat tire. The accident occurred in the construction zone where traffic narrows to two lanes in either direction. The trucker who was killed was found dead in his cab. The driver of the stopped semi was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Caledonia--A high-speed chase ended when the driver lost control and slammed into a tree on 5 Mile Rd. early Thursday morning.  45 year-old Allison Hood of Wadsworth survived the crash, but suffered multiple fractures to her right leg. Hood said she chose to run because she didn't have a valid license. She was cited for drunk driving, sixth offense; driving while revoked and running a couple of stop signs. According to a release from the sheriff's dept., the chase reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour.

Wilmot---Investigators have figured out who wrote a threatening message on the wall of a girls' bathroom at Wilmot High School earlier this week. The Kenosha County Sheriff's Dept. says a 14 year-old girl has confessed. The statement was spotted on Tuesday. Authorities decided to keep the school open, but have on hand additional security. The girl has been referred to Juvenile Intake for charges.
