Kenosha Council Approves Zoning Change for Aurora Project

Kenosha---Additional details have been released on Aurora Health Care's plan to establish a new campus in the southwest quadrant of I-94 and 60th St.

Construction on an outpatient surgery center and a three-story professional office building is expected to begin this summer with the launch of site work, according to a news release Thursday from the medical provider.

The $130 million campus with up to 140 employees, according to the release, is expected to open two years from now.

Additional buildings could go up after that as business conditions and community health needs warrant.

The project got a green light from the Kenosha City Council when members approved a request to change the site's zoning designation from manufacturing to institutional.

Aurora said it plans to preserve the site's wetlands and woodlands.
