Kenosha Couple Offers $100,000 Match for Shalom Center Donations

A longtime activist couple from Kenosha say they will match donations to The Shalom Center up to $100,000 to help get a permanent homeless shelter built. That offer---from Denis and Kay Wikel---comes in the wake of the agency NOT getting an $850,000 grant it needed to open up that shelter on 39th Avenue. Shalom’s Executive Director---Lynn Biese-Carol---is still hoping to raise the needed money to keep the project on track and have the homeless shelter opened by July.
