As Kenosha Police Unravel Gunman's Escape, Others Face Charges

(WGTD)---At least four people are facing charges for allegedly either helping the man who's accused of shooting a Kenosha police officer or being less than forthcoming about their involvement.

30-year-old Travinna Williams of Kenosha is being held on a $50,000 bond for allegedly driving the suspect, Jonathan Massey, to Illinois, according to the criminal complaint that charges Williams with harboring or aiding a felon.

Massey allegedly shot and wounded officer Justin Pruett as Pruett was investigating a vehicle break-in in the early morning hours of Aug. 8th. The gunman was also shot in an exchange of gunfire with the officer.

Williams allegedly drove Massey and two other people to Harvey, Illinois. Massey was observed at a Walgreen's there buying water and "bandaging material." The complaint says the group also stopped at a hospital, but that Massey refused to go in and get treatment.

Another individual picked up Massey at the Walgreen's, and presumably drove him to Gary, Indiana, where he was eventually arrested and taken to the hospital by police for treatment of a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was released hours later and taken to jail. He has since been transferred to Kenosha after waiving extradition.

The three others who've been charged with party to the crime of harboring and aiding a felon are 26 year-old Desiree Brown of Racine, and two Kenosha women, 27-year-old Ebony Hughes and 23 year-old Shydaria Role.

Role and Brown denied being present for the shooting. But investigators later spotted them in a group of people whose images were captured by Pruett's dash cam video. In addition, Brown initially lied about her identity. Hughes initially said she saw the gunman but didn't know who he was. She later told a different story.

Signature bonds were set in court Tuesday for all three women.

Massey made his first court appearance in Kenosha on Monday.

Pruett was released from the hospital last week.
