Lake County Resident, 3 More Wisconsinites Test Positive

Mar. 11, 2020 3:45p; Updated 4:35p with Wisconsin residents testing positive.

(WGTD)---A Lake County resident has tested positive for the COVID-19 disease. A news release issued Wednesday afternoon from the Lake County Health Dept. indicates the resident is a man in his 50s and is in stable condition.

This case is in addition to a non-Lake County resident who's hospitalized in the county.

The release says public health officials are still investigating the man's travel history and are trying to figure out where he may have picked up the virus.

A spokeswoman declined to name the hospital where the man is being treated.

In Wisconsin, three more cases have been confirmed, including one in Waukesha County and two in Fond du Lac. In the Fond du Lac case, one patient is hospitalized while the other is home. The patient in Waukesha County is isolated at home. All three patients had been traveling. This brings the number of people in Wisconsin with confirmed cases to six.

State health officials are also advising anyone who has been on a cruise in Egypt recently to contact their local health department.

Health officials urge everyone to wash their hands often and to avoid touching their face. People who are sick are urged to stay home, except to get medical care.
