Burlington---It’ll soon be a lot easier to get to Gateway Technical College’s Burlington campus from State Highway 142.
The campus has always been visible as drivers enter Burlington from the east and go over a bridge. But it’s been a ‘you-can’t-get-there-from-here’ type of frustration. Drivers have had to circle around and hook up with McCanna Parkway, wasting valuable time.
By the end of the year, drivers will be able to use a round-a-bout to slide off of 142 and get to Gateway quickly, not to mention the adjacent campus of Burlington High School.
The construction of the round-a-bout and the demolition of the bridge began this week. 142 is closed during the construction.
