Racine Mayor John Dickert will leave office a week from today---and---Common Council President Dennis Wiser will take the oath of office as interim mayor at 8-'oclock that same morning---July 17th. Dickert is leaving to take over the leadership role of the Great Lakes & Saint Lawrence Cities Initiative. His official resignation starts the process toward scheduling an election, which the council looked at in a recent Committee of the Whole session.
