Tip McGuire won the Democratic primary in the 64th Assembly district Tuesday. He’ll advance to the April 30th special election to replace Peter Barca, who recently became Revenue Department secretary. McGuire’s Republican opponent will be former Kenosha School Board member Mark Stalker. In winning the primary, McGuire, a Milwaukee County prosecutor who lives in the district, garnered 55% of the vote. Community activist Gina Walkington received 39% and Spencer Zimmerman of Janesville got 6%.
