Kenosha---On election day, mayoral candidate John Antaramian will be sharing the spotlight with his son, Martin.
A solid projection is that members of the Antaramian family will be glued to their television sets to watch a profile of Martin and his fledgling wood-working business. The segment will air Tuesday during a nationally-viewed, cable television program titled “Handcrafted America.”
Martin specializes in creating high-end, artistically-oriented furniture. "I like making art work that is very beautiful in nature and very intricately carved so that these pieces really are sculptures in themselves but at the same time it can be used--it has a purpose," Antaramian said in a WGTD interview.
The younger Antaramian graduated with a degree in sculpture from UW-Parkside in 2011. Three years ago, he quit his factory job to work full-time at building up his inventory.
Producers for the show stumbled across his web site and eventually came to town with their cameras.
Antaramian says he’s excited, noting that the program will be the best exposure yet for his new business.
By the way, the program, with Antaramian's segment, will air on the INSP network Tuesday evening at 7—an hour before the polls close.
