Never Forget the 9-11 Terrorist Attacks on US

September 11th, 2001 should never be forgotten, nor should its lessons. That was the main message delivered by the keynote speaker at a 15th anniversary, 9-11 memorial at the Racine County Fairgrounds last night. Reverend Mark Jaramillo, who also serves as a firefighter chaplain, also asked the crowd of close to 300 to reflect on the selflessness and courage displayed by the first responders and many others who were directly involved in 9-11. Last night’s memorial—held in front of the grandstand—featured a huge flag draped between a pair of fire trucks and a casket symbolizing those who died. The names of the first responders who lost their lives were also read out loud.

Firefighters from a number of Racine County Fire Departments participated in last night’s event, as did several other entities, including the Knights of Columbus.
