New 'Education Matters' Host Joins the Lineup

Oct. 17, 2019 noon

A retired Racine Unified administrator and teacher has become the newest host of WGTD's Education Matters, the Saturday morning program that airs at 10:30 and focuses on topics of concern relating to education.

Jeff Rasmussen served 16 years in RUSD as a teacher of English/drama/speech then joined the ranks of administration. He spent 22 years as an elementary and middle school principal. In retirement, Jeff is president of the Racine Area Retired Educators Association. He's also the part-timer Music and Worship Dir. at St. Mary by the Lake Parish.

For his first program, which aired Oct. 12th, Jeff had in the studio the communications directors of RUSD and Kenosha Unified for a broad discussion on what's new in the districts.

Jeff will take turns hosting with Steve Brown, Karin Sconzert and Joe Mangi. Longtime host Dwayne Olson recently dropped out of the lineup when he and his wife moved out of town.
