New Industry For Kenosha Identified

Kenosha---A cardboard packaging company based in suburban Chicago is planning to build a manufacturing plant in an industrial park near the Kenosha Regional Airport.

The Kenosha City Council will be asked Monday night to approve language that would clear the way for a $500,000 development incentive to be offered to Colbert Package Corp.

The grant is contingent on the creation of at least 100 jobs by the end of 2018 that would pay an average wage of $42,000, according to online documents.

According to its website, Colbert currently has two locations in Lake Forest and a third in Indiana with a payroll of around 300 workers.

The development agreement calls for the city to secure state help in rebuilding 104th Ave. that runs between 52nd and 60th streets.

A formal announcement of Colbert's plans are expected to be made at a Tuesday event.
