(WGTD)---A grocery store on wheels will be making stops five days a week in Racine’s food deserts—areas of town where the nearest grocery store may be miles away.

Milwaukee’s Hunger Task Force and Malicki’s Piggly Wiggly have teamed up to stock a semi-trailer that’ll be pulled around town to various locations.

The new service was officially inaugurated Wednesday during a stop at Knapp Elementary.

Hunger Task Force Executive Director Sherrie Tussler says the mobile grocery store will be stocked with only healthy foods and will include more than 40 varieties of fresh fruits vegetables, meat and dairy products.

Everyone who shops will receive a 25% discount. Also, Foodshare QUEST cards are accepted.
