July 8, 2019  4:30am

(WGTD)---No injuries were reported in a Sunday night house fire in Racine. The Racine Fire Department responded to a second floor balcony fire at 1808 9th Street just after 9:30pm.

Prior to the fire department arriving---a bystander---fearing that someone might be trapped in the upper flat---entered the home and broke through two doors before getting back out due to heavy smoke and dangerous heat. He declined treatment after being evaluated by paramedics. It turns out that no one was in the home at the time of the fire.

The fire department warns people that entering a building on fire is dangerous and carries the potential of creating more victims.

The damage estimate to the home and contents is $150,000.
