One Dead in Racine Home Fire on Sunday Morning

One person died in an early morning fire Sunday that caused an estimated $70,000 in damage. 

According to a news release---the Racine Fire Department responded to a fire at 2901 Gilson Street for a reported structure fire just before 6:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, they found a person who was described to have “injuries unsustainable to life.”  They also found three dead pets.

The fire damage was primarily contained to a bedroom with smoke and heat damage extending through the rest of the home.

The victim has not yet been identified. The fire is currently under investigation.
