"Paint and Sip" Parties to Raise Funds & Create Art For Racine's Uptown

(WGTD)---Racine-area residents will have a chance to contribute both artistically and financially to Uptown beautification and revitalization projects.

Four "paint and sip" nights will be held at The Branch banquet hall and conference center in late May, according to a news release.

Attendees will paint designs on 12" by 12" wooden squares that, when combined, will result in a giant mural that'll be installed on an exterior building wall on Washington Ave. in the Uptown area.

For a fee, attendees will receive up to three paint colors and geometric shape stencils to create any design on a blank square. One drink and light snacks are also included with each ticket.

Ticket prices are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Discounts will be given for students and groups of 20 or more. Tickets can be purchased online at the Make Your Mark/Community Art Collaboration event page

Paint nights are Wednesday, May 22nd; Friday, May 24th and Thursday, May 30th, all from 6-9 p.m.; and Friday, May 31st from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., open-house style.

Proceeds will benefit various projects, including the Art for Uptown movement.
