A Pair of Kenosha County Fires Displaces 3 Families

May 8, 2020 5:30p

(WGTD)---Two fires in Kenosha County Friday afternoon displaced three families.

A blaze that began in materials near the exterior of a duplex in the Wilson neighborhood in Kenosha filled the structure with smoke. Five residents of the lower unit and six in the upper were forced to find alternate shelter.

The flames damaged the siding but did not enter the building. The cause is believed to be accidental.

In Salem Lakes, an attic fire in a two-story home in the 9400 blk of Camp Lake Rd. is believed to have been caused by a problem with a fireplace.

A resident had lit a fire earlier in the day, left for a short while, then returned to find the home filled with smoke.

Three adult residents were displaced in that fire.

The Red Cross is helping all three families.
