Paul Ryan Honored at Boy Scout Luncheon

Although it wasn’t a political event, politics and the presidential election seeped into a Boy Scouts award ceremony in Kenosha Wednesday afternoon where Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan received an award for distinguished citizenship.  Congressman Ryan  has been criticized---by some---for his partial pullback of support of Donald Trump’s candidacy after a tape surfaced in which Trump used vulgar language in talking about women.  Speaking at the event, Republican State Assembly Speaker Robin Vos---in a veiled reference to Trump---said MORE politicians could stand to emulate Scouting values, such as pledging to be courteous, clean and reverent. Vos said his long-time friend---Paul Ryan---personifies Scouting---and---that is something Ryan joked that he’s now taking heat for…saying some of his detractors say he acts too much like a Boy Scout.

The event was held at the Boys and Girls Club in Kenosha with about 250 people attending.
