House Speaker Paul Ryan will be in Kenosha later this month--not to host a town hall meeting---but rather to accept an award.
Ryan and the Domenick and Gina Tirabassi family will be honored at the annual Celebrazione Italiana dinner that's held at UW-Parkside. This year's event will take place Friday, Apr. 28th.
Funds raised through the dinner benefit an exchange program that sends Parkside students to Italy and Italian students to Parkside.
The Tirabassi family is to receive the group's "Lifetime Achievement" award for its support over the years of a variety of community endeavors.
Ryan is to receive the group's "Excellence in Leadership" award.
Ryan is planning on attending the dinner, according to a spokesman for his office.
Ryan has taken heat from political opponents for failing to hold any town hall meetings in his district so far this year.
